Inspected Startup Disrupts South Florida Permitting Delays with Fast Virtual Inspections

A Miami-based startup called Inspected is tackling one of South Florida’s biggest construction bottlenecks: slow and confusing permitting and inspection processes.

The issue is widespread—projects often face long delays not because of design or labor, but because municipal permitting is opaque and inefficient. This problem drew Martin Hebert, now head of growth at Inspected, after his own home remodel was stalled for a year due to permitting.

Inspected offers a solution by acting as a private, state-authorized provider for plan reviews and inspections. Instead of waiting weeks for city inspectors, contractors can use the platform to:

• Upload plans and track permits
• Schedule virtual inspections
• Receive immediate pass/fail results
• Quickly reschedule same-day reinspections if needed

This model became viable after legislative changes in Florida allowed virtual inspections, helping speed up construction timelines and improve transparency.

Originally launched as a SaaS platform for municipalities, Inspected pivoted in 2022 to serve contractors directly, simplifying the process and reducing paperwork errors. The company has grown तेजी—reaching about 60 employees and maintaining profitability while achieving triple-digit growth over three years.

Overall, Inspected aims to modernize construction permitting, making it faster, clearer, and more efficient—especially in high-growth regions like South Florida.
