Ken Griffin Reveals Plans for Citadel’s Miami HQ

Citadel, led by CEO Ken Griffin, plans to construct a new 54-story glass tower in Miami featuring two restaurants, a rooftop hotel, a public waterfront terrace, and possibly a dock for boat arrivals via Biscayne Bay. The 1.7 million-square-foot project, designed by Foster + Partners, is set to begin in the third quarter of 2025 and will take over five years to complete, pending public approvals.

The tower will serve as Citadel’s new headquarters, following the company’s move from Chicago to Miami in 2022, motivated by lower taxes and a more business-friendly environment in Florida. Citadel currently has 4,600 employees and plans to expand in London and New York. The new building will have separate lobbies for office and hotel spaces, and some of the office space will be leased to other tenants. The public terrace will be connected to Miami’s Baywalk, a 5-mile waterfront trail. Gattuso Development Partners, known for their work on the Comcast headquarters in Philadelphia, is consulting on the project.
