Some Winn-Dixie markets will become Aldi stores in South Florida

Aldi is expanding its presence in Florida by converting several Winn-Dixie supermarkets into Aldi stores, following its acquisition of Southeastern Grocers, Winn-Dixie’s parent company, finalized in March 2024. Four South Florida Winn-Dixie locations set for conversion include:

• Aventura (20417 Biscayne Blvd) — currently a full-service kosher store.

• Fort Lauderdale (941 SW 24th St).

• Boynton Beach (8855 Boynton Beach Blvd).

• Westlake (5060 Seminole Pratt Whitney Rd).

The Boynton Beach store has already closed for renovations, while the others are expected to close in mid-January 2025 for conversion. Reopening dates have not been announced but will occur over the next several months.

Aldi continues to open newly built stores alongside these conversions, including a recent location in Miami’s Overtown. Customers are encouraged to visit other Aldi locations during the transition period.
